Walled Garden Open Day

On Sunday 2nd June from 2pm-5pm, Wasing Estate will be welcoming the local community to our magnificent Secret Walled Garden for our charity open day, in aid of West Berkshire Mencap.

Guests are invited to explore the beautiful surroundings of the Victorian era walled garden, originally the kitchen gardens for Wasing Place, the manor house located on the estate.

With competitions and games for the little ones, a guided meditation in nature for the grown ups as well as cream tea, Pimms and ice cream available to purchase on the day – there will be something for everyone to enjoy on a summery Sunday afternoon. Remember to bring along a picnic blanket!

Children are invited to have a go at designing their own garden in a biscuit tin lid and to bring it along on the day to be judged by Wasing’s head gardener.

Now home to endless flora and fauna, including a stunningly scented Rose Walkway, our Secret Walled Garden has hosted an array of events including weddings and yoga retreats and is lovingly cared for by Wasing Estate’s garden team. We can’t wait for you to experience it for yourselves!

Parking will be in the main car park at Wasing Park, and you’re invited to have a look around the venue before walking down to the Walled Garden for the afternoon activities.

Tickets are a £5 donation to West Berkshire Mencap and can be purchased by clicking here.
