Endure 24

A total of 3,400 runners took part in the award-winning Mizuno Endure24 race at Wasing Park last weekend (8-11 June).

Endure24 is a unique event in the running calendar, it mixes serious ultra-running with a 24-hour team relay race. Virtually anyone of any ability level can take part and enjoy a challenging but rewarding weekend of trail running.

Mizuno Endure24 saw people run around the five-mile scenic woodland trail as a pair, in small teams of 3-5 runners and large teams of 6-8 runners, and the event also welcomed serious solo ultra-runners too!

Known as the Glastonbury for runners, Endure24 is a 24-hour running party in Wasing’s woods featuring live music, free camping, yoga from the team at Wasing Wellbeing and entertainment for the children provided by the Living Paintings – a charity for the blind and partially sighted.

Almost 100 people took advantage of the yoga sessions provided by Jill Watson from Wasing Wellbeing who helped to keep bodies well-oiled for the weekend and beyond.

Living Paintings entertained children all weekend with craft making and story time.

Stick Man jogged alongside the children in the mini fun run and handed out prizes to the fancy dress runners on Friday and he was seen again with Kipper touring the arena with children (and adults) on Saturday too – frequently stopping to take many selfies with their fans.

The two ‘Crafty Marquees’ were packed with those wanting to make Hungry Caterpillars, pompom sheep, tissue turtles and bunting, whilst the ‘Book Den Bell Tent’ was a favourite for those looking for some quiet time.

Author Julie Sykes joined in for story time and craft sessions with Little Tiger mask making and the Unicorn Academy fortune teller fun.
