Wasing’s Record Breaking Carp

The new British recording breaking carp, The Parrot has been hauled from the UK’s top fishing waters on Wasing Estate Berkshire, by amateur fisherman Dean Fletcher.

The mirror carp, known as the Parrot, due to its distinctive looking face, was caught early evening on 13th January 2016 in Cranwells Lake at a staggering 68lb 1oz. The previous record was by “Two Tone” a 67lb 14oz Carp. Within hours of announcing the now world famous catch, it had reached over 250,000 views on Facebook including mentions from Carp Talk and other top angling magazines, we have even been noticed by ex England goalkeeper, David Seaman!

Dean Fletcher said “it’s a bit surreal! I’ve been on here for 3 seasons and I’ve been after this fish in particular because I’ve caught everything else in here. I didn’t care how big it was going to be, I just wanted to catch it. To have it at over 68lbs is something else!
