Wasing Park Love Stories // Lucy & Michael 21.07.25

A Joy-Filled Union at Wasing Park

Lucy and Michael’s wedding on 21st July 2025 was a radiant summer celebration filled with colour, music, and fun. A truly perfect day. Let us tell you about it…

Bathed in sunshine, their wedding made full use of Wasing Park’s breathtaking outdoor spaces, historic architecture, and seamless flow between ceremony, celebration, and party.

With exclusive use of Wasing Park, Lucy and Michael enjoyed a relaxed yet vibrant day surrounded by nature, thoughtfully curated details, and the people they love most. What more could you wish for?

The night before the wedding, Lucy stayed in Kitt’s Cottage, which is included free of charge as part of your wedding celebration. The cottage is tucked away across the estate, surrounded by nature. This peaceful setting created a calm, grounding start to the celebrations, a quiet haven to spend the evening with her closest friends and family ahead of the big day.

On the morning of the wedding, Lucy moved across to Wasing’s iconic Honeymoon Suite to finish getting ready. Named one of Hitched.co.uk’s Top 10 Amazing Bridal Suites from Around the World, the suite provided the perfect backdrop for those special pre-ceremony moments. With its original beams, exceptional garden views, and luxurious sense of space, it allowed Lucy to enjoy a tranquil morning while her photographers, Studio Rouge, captured every beautiful detail.

Michael spent the morning in The Groom’s Room, just a stone’s throw from the Stables Bar, where he and his groomsmen enjoyed getting suited and booted together. With a pre-wedding drink in hand and the sunshine calling, the group stepped outside for relaxed portraits ahead of the ceremony, soaking up the atmosphere and easing any pre-ceremony nerves.

Lucy and Michael chose to exchange vows at Wasing’s enchanting Victorian Summerhouse, one of the estate’s most romantic ceremony spaces. Nestled within the Berkshire countryside, the hand-painted mural inside the Summerhouse, depicting blossom trees, wildlife, and flora, created a breathtaking setting, immersed in nature.

Florals by Lindsey Kitchin of The White Horse Flower Company, one of Wasing Park’s chosen suppliers, were nothing short of spectacular. A wild, broken floral arch framed the ceremony space, with an abundance of foraged-style blooms that were organic, romantic, and beautifully in tune with the landscape. Chairs were adorned with hand-tied posies, completing the natural, meadow-inspired look.

Lindsey often incorporates flowers grown right here on the estate in Wasing’s Walled Garden, a reflection of her commitment to sustainability, a value shared deeply with Wasing Park.

As Lucy walked the petal-lined aisle, The Wedding String Quartet played, their music drifting from the Summerhouse seating and setting the tone for a ceremony that was both elegant and deeply moving. Think Bridgerton meets idyllic Berkshire Country Estate.

Following the ceremony, guests made their way to the Castle Barn lawns to enjoy canapés in the sunshine, while Lucy and Michael stole a few quiet moments together for couples’ portraits among the wild, natural surroundings beside the Summerhouse.

These peaceful pockets of the estate reflect Wasing’s deep respect for the land it stewards. We are committed to making conscious decisions that protect and preserve the natural environment, nurturing biodiversity, supporting sustainable practices, and creating a place where both people and nature can truly thrive. It’s this thoughtful approach that allows couples to celebrate within landscapes that feel not only beautiful, but meaningful too.

A joyful confetti moment followed in front of the historic Castle Barn, before the couple joined their bridal party for fun, relaxed photographs along Wasing’s sweeping driveway, complete with a classic car that added a timeless touch to the day.

Photography throughout the celebration was captured by Studio Rouge Photography, one of Wasing Park’s chosen suppliers, who documented the day with their signature storytelling style, from intimate moments to exuberant celebrations, preserving every detail beautifully.

The Castle Barn was transformed for the wedding breakfast into a vibrant, flower-filled reception space. Again, Lindsey of The White Horse Flower Company created a riot of colourful blooms that spilt across tables and filled the barn with life and texture, paired with bright tapered candles that added warmth and personality.

With its soft red brick walls, arrow-slit windows, and blank-canvas flexibility, the Castle Barn allowed Lucy and Michael to personalise the space entirely to their vision, bold, joyful, and full of summer energy.

The couple made their entrance to the wedding breakfast to jubilant napkin-waving, instantly setting the tone for a lively, laughter-filled meal shared with family and friends. Guests were treated to a beautifully crafted dining experience centred around fillet steak from Wasing’s own herd of organic Sussex cattle, a true celebration of the estate’s ‘nose to tail’ philosophy.

Using exceptional produce sourced directly from Wasing’s organic farm and the surrounding Berkshire countryside, the menu reflected the estate’s commitment to fresh, seasonal ingredients and thoughtful, sustainable dining.

As the day drifted into golden hour, Lucy and Michael stepped outside once more for portraits bathed in warm evening light, a perfect pause before the celebrations continued.

And continue they did… The evening party took place back in the Castle Barn, where The Indie Killers made full use of the incredible acoustics, filling the space with energy and ensuring the dancefloor stayed packed late into the night. With expert lighting from PartyLights, another of our chosen suppliers, and experts in knowing just the right touch to elevate the Castle Barn’s beauty, the barn transformed into an electric party atmosphere, the perfect ending to an unforgettable day.

Lucy and Michael’s wedding was a joyful celebration of love, colour, music, and togetherness, showcasing everything that makes a summer wedding at Wasing Park so special. From a romantic outdoor ceremony and sunshine-filled drinks reception to a flower-packed Castle Barn and a night of unforgettable music, their day flowed effortlessly.

It was a true celebration of nature, creativity, and love, and a beautiful example of how Wasing Park brings your extraordinary wedding dreams to life.
