Sustainability is at the core of everything we do at Wasing Park.
Wasing Park is an ‘Oasis/Floral Foam Free Venue’. As part of this, we are asking that all couples speak with their florist and request neither product is used on their special day. We would like to confirm that the florists on the suppliers list are compliant and have been for some time, so if you have booked them, there is no need to contact them.
A single block of floral foam contains as much plastic as 10 plastic shopping bags, emphasizing its significant plastic content, plus traditional floral foam takes thousands of years to degrade completely, leading to long-term environmental presence. The RHS banned the use of it in their shows in 2023.
We appreciate this may cause some issues and may not seem achievable for everyone. However, as an Estate we would really appreciate as much support as possible, in ensuring Wasing Park is on the path, in being as sustainable as it possibly can be.
