Solstice Artists

Solstice at Wasing is guided by artists and ceremony leaders whose work is rooted in connection and shared presence. Through the night, music and voice weave through the woodland, holding space around the fire and into the dawn. From prayerful song and ancestral sound to intimate, soul-stirring performances, each artist shapes a ceremony that emerges from the land, the moment, and the community gathered.

Omer Gonen-Haela

10.40pm

Omer is an Israeli multi instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and ceremony leader with over 25 years experience travelling the world, performing, holding ceremonial spaces and collaborating with many artists and teachers.

His music is influenced by the diverse backgrounds of his musical studies and world travels. His songs are songs of prayer and depth, of love and connection. They hold the vision of a human world based on respect, trust and an honest connection to all that is.

Omer’s concerts are held as ceremonies, celebrating community, the mutual intention and the power of prayer when held together as a creative force.

“Today, I describe myself as “Ba’al Tfila” (A man of prayer). This title is given, in the Jewish tradition, to a person that uses his creativity through prayer as a tool to connect people to their deep essence, to their guidance and to each other. I look at prayer as a source of creativity existing in us all, as a language that eternally evolves and unfolds, as a path bringing people together to feel, sing, dream, share and manifest.” – Omer

Ripples Collective

10.40pm

Marwan and Noam, both gifted singer-songwriters, come together in a duet that intertwines Arabic and Hebrew.

In the weaving together of songs, the two languages meet like two souls seeking to reconnect, embodying their beauty, playfulness and expressiveness.

Their performance is a deeply stirring, heart-melting experience. With the simplest of mediums – two voices, two guitars – Marwan and Noam create a very powerful journey, resonating a loud, clear and timely message.

In these challenging times, such music can help us envision an alternative reality, allowing us to sense what exists beyond our despair, aiding us in picturing a life that can be lived and shared peacefully.

Noam is the driving force behind many ground-breaking musical projects. Notably, he founded and led one of the most innovative, influential and politically engaged bands in Israel – Habiluim. Noam also founded The Great Gehenna Choir. Through his compositions for the choir, he explores the interplay of art and ritual, crafting soul-stirring musical ceremonies. Over the past decade, Noam has developed an innovative vocal method, working extensively with both professional and non-professional singers. Noam also holds space in ceremonies for diverse communities, convinced of the transformative power of psychedelic work to unite and connect people.

Marwan is a Palestinian of Druze descent from Mount Carmel, fluent in both Hebrew and Arabic. His music stems from his identity as someone positioned in the middle, someone who identifies with both sides. It’s a unique standpoint, being able to embrace such different perspectives simultaneously without being torn apart. From this position, Marwan’s music embodies a spirit of connection and unity.
