Rooted & Wild

Friday May 28th – Sunday 30th May 2027
An Integrative, Somatic Breathwork Retreat. With Rebecca Dennis and Breathing Tree Facilitators, at Wasing Estate. Are you longing for meaningful change? Return home to your true nature, with this immersive healing experience of breathwork, ancient wisdom and modern science, set in nature for a deep reset.
This is a deeply healing process for those looking to undertake profound inner work.
Weaving integrative breathwork, somatic bodywork and modern psychology with the depth of ancient wisdom, this immersive 3-day retreat creates a unique opportunity to realign with your deeper truth, transform your relationship with yourself and others, and emerge with a sense of clarity, purpose and vitality to take into your daily life.
For thousands of years, sages, yogis and shamans have understood the power of the breath – the medicine we already carry within us.
This retreat brings that ancient wisdom into nature, three days in an intimate small group, utilising the breath to access swhich evetates of release and insight that go into the subconscious and help understand the patterns and behaviours, and the past experiences, that have shaped who we are today.
This is not just a retreat. This is a ceremony, an intentional, held descent into the places in you that are ready to be met, understood, and finally integrated and accepted with compassion.
Through conscious connected breathwork and somatic and shamanic techniques, we access non-ordinary states of consciousness – territory often compared to a plant medicine journey, reached here through breath and bodywork alone. No substances. Just breath, the nature around you, and a carefully held container where the body feels able to gently meet the stories it carries.
This is for people who already know they’re not looking for a nice weekend away. You’re carrying something that hasn’t yet had the chance to complete itself – a pattern that keeps repeating, a grief that hasn’t fully moved through, a coping mechanism that is keeping you from accessing deep joy, a part of you that got exiled somewhere along the way and is still waiting to be brought home. You’re ready to turn towards it, work with it, and let it be witnessed – not just refreshed, but genuinely ready for change.
This healing experience is held by Rebecca Dennis – published author, integrative somatic breathwork practitioner, trainer and certified trauma counsellor, with almost 20 years’ experience working with thousands of clients across London and internationally, alongside her team of Breathing Tree facilitators. Rebecca’s approach blends somatic breathwork with Internal Family Systems, bilateral processing, parts work, somatic attachment work, working from the inside out, with the nervous system’s own language, to help the body meet and accept what it’s been holding rather than simply talking around it.
Held in the heart of Wasing Estate’s woodland, in single or shared bell tents provided, or bring your own tent, this is a deeply intimate three days, kept to a small group of 18 participants so everyone is genuinely held and seen.

What we’ll be working with
Across three days, Rebecca and her facilitator team will guide you through somatic breathwork integrated with Internal Family Systems and bilateral processing, alongside somatic release, bodywork, and ancestral healing practices – working with the body’s memory and the mind’s coping mechanisms, and always in step with the land around you and going at your pace.
Hidden trauma, old beliefs, and unspoken emotion don’t disappear because we’ve decided to move on. They live in the whole body as contraction, tension, inflammation, fatigue, and patterns we can’t quite articulate. This work goes beyond talk therapy – gently, and always respecting the body’s boundaries, inviting the parts of us that may have been exiled or repressed to finally be expressed, witnessed, and integrated.
You’ll be met with:
- Somatic connected breathwork, integrated with Internal Family Systems and bilateral processing, taken to an altered, expansive state of consciousness
- Somatic and bodywork practices to meet what words can’t reach
- Ancestral and shamanic healing to work with what isn’t only yours to carry
- Nervous system education, understanding what’s actually happening in you, and how to work with it long after the immersion ends
- Sound healing, movement, and fire ceremony
- Two wild swims in the lake and outdoor woodfired sauna, for integration and reset
- Time around the fire each evening, to sit together, reflect and integrate what’s moved
- Delicious, nourishing food throughout, cooked especially for us by Wasing’s own culinary genius, Joe Chef
Why breathwork like this
Conscious somatic breathwork is the bridge between mind and body, and the physical and cosmic realms. It bypasses the stories we tell ourselves and explores the root cause – the tightness, the bracing, the years of “I’m fine.” Done skillfully and mindfully, outdoors, in a carefully curated container, it can move people through the same territory as a psychedelic journey: dissolving defences, surfacing what’s been buried, and creating the conditions for real integration, not just release.
This isn’t about a nice story to tell afterwards. It’s about walking away with something genuinely different in your whole being – better sleep, more energy, a nervous system that isn’t running on high alert, and a clearer sense of who you are underneath everything you’ve been holding.

Accommodation & Surroundings
This retreat takes place in the stunning woodlands of Wasing Estate, offering a chance to truly slow down, switch off and reconnect with nature.
Our Woodland venue is nestled in a leafy glade beneath towering trees and surrounded by ancient woodland. It’s a simple, soulful space designed for being outdoors, gathering around the fire and enjoying the beauty of your surroundings.
The woodland is equipped with a fully functioning kitchen, fire pits, carved wooden seating, compost WCs and outdoor showers. You’ll find everything you need for a comfortable stay, while still feeling a world away from everyday life.
A haven for wildlife, the woodland is home to seasonal bluebells, dragonflies, deer, foxgloves and ferns. It provides a beautiful, natural setting for retreats, festivals and activities focused on the rejuvenation of mind, body and soul.
Accommodation is in cosy bell tents, available for single or shared occupancy. Each tent is simply furnished with a single bed, pillow, duvet and blanket, giving you a comfortable place to rest while keeping you close to the sights and sounds of the woodland.
This is a rustic outdoor experience, so please come prepared to embrace nature and the elements. Parts of the site are on uneven ground, and the facilities are intentionally simple and environmentally conscious.
A welcome letter and suggested kit list, including everything you’ll need to bring, will be provided at the point of booking.
Please note: If you have any physical health or mobility difficulties, please contact us in advance so we can make sure we’re able to accommodate your needs as comfortably as possible.
Wasing takes sustainability seriously. We use compost toilets and gas-powered showers in the woodland, manage the gardens organically and only use biodegradable cleaning products. Please bring eco-friendly soaps and toiletries with you.
We also ask that you avoid using non-eco-friendly sunscreen, due to an endangered dragonfly species protected in the lakes we use for swimming.
Our Food & Your Dietary Needs
In line with sustainable practices across the Estate, the retreat is fully catered by chef Joe Cathers, with delicious home-cooked and locally sourced vegetarian food. Meals can be enjoyed in the covered dining area. There is a fire lit for the evenings.
Please notify us well in advance of your stay if you have any food allergies or intolerances.
Please note
This is deep, honest work, and it can bring up strong emotional and physical release. That’s the point, and it’s also why the container matters so much. Rebecca holds this with experienced and skilled facilitators throughout, with full support during and after the ceremony.
Please read the contraindications carefully before enquiring, as somatic connected breathwork is not suitable for everyone but can be adapted.
