Wasing Park Love Stories // Lauren & Dan 29.05.25

A Joyful Spring Wedding Filled With Family, Food & Celebration

Lauren and Dan’s wedding was a celebration full of laughter, heartfelt moments, and unforgettable energy from beginning to end. Surrounded by 86 of their closest family and friends, including their beautiful young children, the couple created a wedding day that was deeply personal and very relaxed.

A Calm Start Surrounded by Nature

The night before the wedding, Lauren stayed in Wasing’s charming Bridal Cottage, nestled peacefully within the estate’s beautiful countryside. Sleeping up to seven guests, the cottage provided the perfect setting to unwind with her closest loved ones ahead of the celebrations, a calm and tranquil retreat before the excitement of the day began.

On the morning of the wedding, Lauren began preparations there before making her way across the estate to the spectacular Honeymoon Suite for the finishing touches. Named one of Hitched.co.uk’s Top 10 Amazing Bridal Suites from Around the World, the suite combines original beams, luxurious interiors, and sweeping views across the private gardens, creating the perfect backdrop for those emotional pre-ceremony moments.

Hair styling by Proud of My Locks and makeup by DCMUA completed Lauren’s elegant bridal look, while photographers Studio Rouge, one of our trusted Chosen Suppliers, beautifully captured the anticipation, excitement, and quiet moments before the ceremony.

Morning Preparations in The Groom’s Room

Meanwhile, Dan and his groomsmen, dressed to impress in old-money classic black-tie, enjoyed a relaxed morning in The Groom’s Room, conveniently located beside the Stables Bar. With plenty of space to get suited and booted, enjoy a pre-wedding drink, and calm any nerves ahead of the ceremony, it provided the ideal setting for a memorable start to the day.

A Spring Ceremony in the Garden Room

Lauren and Dan exchanged vows in our beautifully restored Garden Room, a warm and characterful ceremony space nestled within the tranquil gardens of the estate. Rustic oak beams, aged brickwork, and expansive glass bi-fold doors filled the room with natural light and framed views towards the Castle Barn, creating an atmosphere that felt both intimate and effortlessly elegant.

Surrounded by family, friends, and their children, the couple said “I do” in a ceremony full of love, emotion, and springtime warmth.

Cocktails, Canapés & Sunshine in the Italian Gardens

Following the ceremony, guests gathered in the Italian Gardens outside the Castle Barn to enjoy cocktails, canapés, and the glorious May sunshine. Signature drinks included Pink Gin Prosecco, Vodka Brambles, and refreshing Elderflower Sparkler mocktails, the perfect accompaniment to an afternoon celebration in the gardens.

Canapés showcased our exceptional culinary offering, with guests enjoying:

  • Tandoori lamb fillet with saffron mint yoghurt
  • Baked scallop with lime and coriander butter
  • Courgette, carrot and sweet potato pakora with pickled ginger
  • Fried Somerset brie with sesame crust and fig jam

While our chefs continually update and refine the menu choices, this is the perfect example of some of the sumptuous, locally sourced ingredients and canapés you could expect from any wedding here.

While guests mingled on the lawns, newlyweds Lauren and Dan stole a few quiet moments together, taking a glass of prosecco along our sweeping driveway for portraits. Against the backdrop of the estate’s rolling spring landscape, the couple captured relaxed and joyful moments with their bridal party that perfectly reflected the atmosphere of the day.

A Wedding Breakfast Rooted in Estate-to-Plate Dining

The wedding breakfast was hosted inside the iconic Castle Barn, where guests were welcomed with high energy and laughter as DJ2four7 announced the newlyweds into the room to cheers and celebration.

Known for our exceptional estate-to-plate dining, our menus champion seasonal ingredients sourced directly from the estate and the surrounding Berkshire countryside. Lauren and Dan chose a menu that perfectly reflected our commitment to outstanding produce and sustainable dining.

Guests began with slow-roast spiced pork croquette, served with celeriac and apple remoulade and burnt apple purée, before enjoying fillet of beef with artichoke and potato gratin, leek top purée, seasonal vegetables, and jus. The beef came from our own herd, reared on the estate as part of its sustainable farm-to-plate ethos.

Dessert followed with a comforting classic of apple and blackberry crumble served with vanilla ice cream, a nostalgic and much-loved finale to the meal.

The Castle Barn itself was beautifully atmospheric throughout the afternoon, enhanced by florals from TheFwordFlower – Hannah Carter, elegant lighting by Party Lights, and the vibrant energy of family and friends celebrating together.

Couples Portraits & An Unforgettable Evening Celebration

Following hilarious speeches and an afternoon filled with laughter, the couple slipped away during the early evening for romantic portraits amongst the breathtaking spring landscapes of Wasing Park. As the evening light softened across the estate, it created the perfect backdrop for timeless photographs together.

The celebrations then continued late into the evening inside the Castle Barn, where guests filled the dancefloor while DJ2four7, Evertide, and saxophonist Claire Manners kept the energy high throughout the night.

Outside, beneath the fairy-lit stretch tent terrace, guests enjoyed prosecco and freshly prepared pizzas cooked in our outdoor stone-baked oven overlooking the immaculate rolling lawns. Menu favourites included salami, chorizo, honey and guindilla chilli, alongside prosciutto, buffalo mozzarella, truffle oil, and grana padano.

With dancing, laughter, music, and loved ones gathered together beneath the lights of the Castle Barn, Lauren and Dan’s wedding ended exactly as it began: full of warmth, joy, and unforgettable moments.
