SENBLA PRESENTS 

ON THE MOUNT AT WASING 2023 & 2024

Crowded House

With a career that spans almost 40 years, Crowded House have enjoyed worldwide success. They have sold more than 15 million albums worldwide and in 2016, the band was inducted into the ARIA – Australian Recording Industry Association – Hall of Fame. Crowded House have also won several national and international awards including being named International Group of the Year at the BRIT Awards and an MTV Video Music Award. They played at The Mount on 17th June 2024.

 

Paolo Nutini

One-of-a-kind Scottish singer-songwriter Paolo Nutini has cemented himself as amongst the finest artists of his generation, known for his live performances that mix his blue-eyed soul with a cross-genre musical kaleidoscope. Ivor Novello winner and multiple BRIT Award nominee with a remarkable 18 Platinum certifications in the UK alone, Paolo’s incredible vocals filled The Mount on 18th June 2024.

 

 

Jungle

Jungle are one of the hottest names to emerge in British electronic music for the past decade. The duo comprising of Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland were shortlisted for the 2014 Mercury Prize with their debut self-titled album. Their fourth album ‘Volcano’ was released to critical acclaim earlier this year alongside a feature-length film of the same name. The single ‘Back on 74’ became a huge hit, going viral with over a billion views across TikTok and Instagram inspired by its dynamic music video that millions are recreating. They played Glastonbury & The Mount on 27th June 2024.

 

Underworld

Underworld are a true one-off, who are just as at home headlining the world’s biggest festivals and events, playing underground techno clubs and warehouses, sound-tracking theatre productions or taking over art galleries. Having cemented their place in the ’90s underground techno scene, the group’s definitive breakthrough came in 1996 when their timeless anthem ‘Born Slippy (Nuxx)’ became the soundtrack of a generation after it was featured in the film Trainspotting. They later sound-tracked the Opening Ceremony to the London 2012 Olympic Games. They played at The Mount on 29th June 2024.

 

Sigur Ros

Icelandic post-rock icons Sigur Ros performed a UK Festival Exclusive set at Wasing, having just celebrated 20 years since their iconic third album, ‘Untitled’, otherwise known as ‘( )’. Famed for their incredible live performances, and the ubiquity of their song ‘Hoppipolla’, the band have now released seven studio albums, two films, solo albums, side projects, orchestral and choral works, tech start-up collaborations, music for dance companies and leading visual artists, as well as several film scores. They played at The Mount on 2nd July 2023.

 

Primal Scream

Fronted by founding member Bobby Gillespie, Primal Scream have a back-catalogue spanning more than three and a half decades, embracing everything from psychedelic pop to degenerate rock’n’roll; euphoric rave to industrial gloom. Along with hit singles such as ‘Movin’ On Up’, ‘Rocks’ and ‘Loaded’, the band have achieved seven Top 10 albums, including ‘Screamadelica’ and ‘Give Out But Don't Give Up’, and were the first ever winners of the Mercury Music Prize in 1992. They performed at The Mount on 30th June 2023.

 

Ben Howard

BRIT Award winning singer-songwriter Ben Howard released his double platinum-selling debut album ‘Every Kingdom’ in 2011, followed by a Pyramid Stage Glastonbury appearance. His follow-up album, ‘I Forget Where We Are’ went straight to No.1 in the UK album charts, and his subsequent albums ‘Noonday Dream’ in 2018, and his most recent ‘Collections from the Whiteout’ in 2021 were released to critical acclaim. He played on 1st July 2023 & describe The Mount as "such a beautiful venue".

 

Jack Johnson

Hawaiian-born, California raised Jack Johnson is a Grammy nominated, BRIT Award winning singer-songwriter who released his 8th studio album ‘Meet The Moonlight’ to critical acclaim. Johnson rose to fame in the mid-00’s with albums such as ‘On and On’, and ‘In Between Dreams’, which went platinum and multi-platinum respectively and features hits such as ‘Better Together’, and ‘Good People’. He played at Wasing on 25th June 2023 & said of his view from the stage "It feels like I'm looking at a Van Gogh".

 

Gabriels

Soulful British-American trio Gabriels were nominated for 2023's BRIT Awards International Group of the Year, following the release of the first half of their debut album ‘Angels and Queens’. They performed at The Mount on 22nd June 2023 before heading to the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury to perform alongside Sir Elton John.

We've compiled some useful information to make your time at the event even more enjoyable so please take a couple of minutes to read through the below:

Getting to the concert:

The Mount is located at Wasing Estate, Wasing Lane, Aldermaston, RG7 4LY.

When approaching the venue, please follow event signage for Wasing Concerts.

The address for entry to the concerts is Pavilion Gate, Wasing Lane, Aldermaston, RG7 4LY. The Pavilion Gate entrance is approximately ½ a mile from Aldermaston village. The exact location can be viewed at the What3Words location  https://what3words.com/outline.essays.apartment

  • If coming from the M4, whether coming from the East or the West, please leave the M4 at Junction 12.
  • If coming from the North, leave the A34 at the M4 J13 Chieveley junction and take the M4 East. Leave the M4 at Junction 12.
  • If coming from the South, leave the M3 at Junction 6 (Basingstoke) and take the A339 North then take the A340 through Tadley.

Please expect to experience a higher volume of traffic than normal when entering and exit the site.

Pick up and Drop off:

If you are being dropped off or picked up by friends, family or a taxi please follow the signage to the dedicated pick up and drop off point. Please do not get picked up or dropped off in other locations as a traffic management system will be in place and routes may be blocked. We wish to ensure our audience have a safe journey to and from the concert.

When confirming drop off/collection times with taxis please allow sufficient time to get to and from the amphitheatre from the taxi point.

Entry Information:

The amphitheatre is accessed via a beautiful woodland trail which is a 10–15-minute walk from the car park. Please ensure you are wearing suitable footwear for undulating woodland as this is a rural site and that you leave enough time to access the amphitheatre and undergo security checks.

General Admission entry:

There is a dedicated General Admission entry lane for ticket holders and stewards will direct you from car parks. Please have your tickets ready to be scanned on arrival to the woodland trail.

Hospitality Entry:

There is a dedicated hospitality entry lane for ticket holders and stewards will direct you from the car parks. Please have your tickets ready to be scanned on arrival to the woodland trail.

Car Parks

Please follow event signage on approach to the venue and once through the Pavilion Gate, please follow instructions from the car parking stewards.

Car parking is in a grass field and will be open from 4.30pm.

Please ensure you book your parking tickets prior to your arrival through Ticketmaster.

Delays may be expected when entering/exiting the car parks. We ask that you are patient and co-operative with our staff onsite.

Accessibility Parking

For Accessible parking, please follow the same arrival instructions in the ‘Getting to the concert’ section and on entry, please have your Blue Badge or accessible ticket ready to display and stewards will direct you to Accessible Parking. Please note that this car park bypasses the woodland trail and is sited as close as possible to the amphitheatre.

If leaving the site by car, from the Accessible Carpark, please follow the event signage indicating “Accessible Carpark Exit”.

If you are being collected, please liaise with the Accessibility Officer who will escort you to the Pick up/Drop off area by the Pavilion Gate. Please make sure your drivers know to wait at the taxi point by the main gate as they will not be able to drive down to the car park.

Amphitheatre Timings:

The box office will open at 4:00pm

The car park will open at 4:30pm

Food and drinks will be available in the car park from 4:30pm

Access to the woodland trail to the amphitheatre will open from 5:30pm, subject to sound checks.

Last entry will be at 8:30pm on every night.

Our bars and food outlets will remain open after the show for you to enjoy a final refreshment before heading home.

Concert Timings

 

Concert timings will be announced when tickets go on sale. 

There is no readmission after entry.

Please make sure you have your tickets saved to your iPhone or Android wallet as reception in the area may be intermittent. This will save time when entering the amphitheatre and avoid any queues at the box office.

Age Restrictions

We advise that the event may not be suitable for young children, especially those under 2yrs of age. However, if you do arrive with a non-ticketed child under 2yrs old, please report to the box office where an attendant will provide a complementary ticket. All children 3yrs and older will need to have a purchased ticket. Buggies and necessary care bags will be permitted, but please be advised that additional security checks may take place. We advise that all children should wear ear defenders.

Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult over 18.

Prohibited items:-

 

  • This concert is STANDING ONLY. Seats and chairs of any kind are not permitted into the events. This includes seat sticks and inflatable seats. You are permitted to bring a blanket to sit on, although you may be asked to pack this up when the show starts.

 

  • You are not allowed to bring umbrellas to Wasing concerts. As we cannot always rely on British weather, please make sure you have appropriate clothing fit for rain or shine. We do allow ticket holders to bring sun cream if they are willing to test it in front of security.

 

  • Food and drink bought from outside of the amphitheatre is not permitted however there will be a range of delicious food and drink traders inside the amphitheatre. Vegan, vegetarian and Gluten Free options will be available. Free drinking water is available so please do bring an empty reusable bottle or 1x sealed 500ml plastic water bottles.

 

  • Glass is not allowed into the amphitheatre.

 

  • Banners, Flags and Laser pens are not permitted.

 

  • No perfume permitted

 

  • ID is required for Entry.

 

  • It is strictly prohibited to bring into the venue any weapons, knives, guns, sharp objects, alcohol, illegal substances, legal highs, fireworks, pyrotechnics, sparklers, fires, BBQs, smoke bombs, confetti canons, air horns, lasers, aerosols or flares.

 

  • Bags larger than A3 will not be permitted. All bags will be searched at dedicated security points. Personal searches may also be conducted at this point.

 

  • Animals, with the exception of assistance dogs, are not permitted. Please email the promoters wasing@senbla.com and bring your registration documentation with you.

 

  • Drones are strictly prohibited.

 

  • Commercial or professional photography, videography, dronography or audio equipment is not permitted.

 

  • Tickets provide access to the event listed on your ticket only. Access to any other area of the Wasing Estate or any other event taking place on site is not permitted.

 

 

  • Cars cannot be left in the carpark overnight.

The security team and event organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to any person carrying any other items or substances which may be deemed to be offensive, disruptive, dangerous or likely to infringe any party’s rights, safety or security, or any dangerous article or substance not referred to above.

If you have unique dietary requirements, complex allergies or specific medical needs that necessitate the inclusion of certain items, kindly send an email outlining your request to wasing@senbla.com. Our dedicated team will review and approve your request promptly.

Lastly, the Wasing Amphitheatre and surrounding site is a protected area so please place any rubbish in the bins provided or take it away with you!

Cashless Venue

On The Mount at Wasing is a cashless venue. Vendors and the box office are accepting card and contactless payments only. 

Personal Safety

If you feel unwell at any point, please head to our medical tent where you will be treated without judgement.

On the day where can I collect my lost property?

Lost property will be held at the medical point in the main arena. Please email wasing@senbla.com if you have misplaced your personal belongings.
