Wedding & Event Co-Ordinator

Wasing has a vacancy for a full-time, Wedding & Event Co-Ordinator. Role Overview

  • Management of Weddings, including evening work, and working the late-night bar
  • Event support and management on corporate events
  • Managing the casual event staff on event days
  • Work closely with the client on the day to ensure the smooth running of the event
  • Manage and co-ordinate suppliers and all event logistics as per function sheet
  • Assisting the Bar Manager
  • To ensure that all charges are applied to guest accounts and to receive all monies for these charges upon departure
  • Manage hotel reception and pre ceremony bar when required
  • Manage breakfast service when required.
  • Work closely with the housekeeping team to ensure accommodation is of the required standard
  • Look after all guest’s requirements during their stay
  • Responsible for the security of the entire venue at Wasing, when on duty
  • To manage the Hotel reservations system – Rezcontrol
  • Stock control of service ware and management of store rooms
  • Have an understanding of bar stock and ordering systems
  • Event support at Wedding experience events and wedding open days
  • To carry out show rounds of the venue and support the Sales team when needed
  • To ensure that you comply with all current legislation and statutory requirements

What we are looking for

  • Knowledge and experience in a hospitality setting is preferred but not necessary
  • Excellent organisational skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide clients with assurance, in a calm and confident manner, during pressurised times.
  • Attention to detail is imperative to ensure all key elements of each event are met to perfection.
  • A creative and imaginative flair to help clients build upon and develop aspirations for their event.
  • Energy and spirit are essential in the industry, as required hours can be long on event days.
  • A requirement to be flexible and support your colleagues especially when covering holidays, sickness and days off.
  • Current IT and computer knowledge of programs including Outlook, Excel and Word are required to a high standard.
  • Someone who wants to build a career around events and can grow alongside the business and build a long-term future at Wasing.

Full training given

Contract: Full Time Annualised Hours (based on 40 hours per week) including evening and weekend work
