Fisheries
Wasing Fisheries offer exclusive, membership-only use of the extensive lakes and rivers situated within the Estate and Kennet Valley. The waters provide a calm, tranquil space creating not only a haven for those that appreciate and enjoy country pursuits but for an abundance of wildlife too including Bitterns, Egrets, Hobbies, Swans numerous Kingfishers, and a vast variety of specimens making it a truly special place for quality fishing.

Carp and Tench Specimen Syndicate
Our Carp and Tench Specimen Syndicate offers exclusive use of two of our tranquil lakes, Oxlease and Cranwells. Both these lakes offer some of the highest quality Carp fishing in the UK, distinguished by a number of impressive specimen Carp over 50lbs (Including Common, Mirror and Leather) and Tench up to 12lbs. Situated in unspoilt countryside in Woolhampton, the lakes expand over 25 acres between them and the season runs from the 1st August – 30th June. Our Specimen syndicate is famous for its catch of the “Parrot Carp” at a record-breaking weight of 69lbs.

Carp & Tench General Syndicate
Wasing Fisheries General Syndicate consists of three of Wasing’s lakes, Staghead, Shalford and Bottle expanding over 15 acres. Staghead lake situated in Wasing Wood is our most mature lake, dating back to the 17th century, containing Common, Mirror, Crucian and Leather Carp. Shalford and Bottle Lake located in Brimpton were originally gravel pits but have since transformed into a sanctuary for both wildlife and humans alike, containing Tench, Bream, Pike and Carp up to 40lbs. Shalford and Bottle Lakes are ideally situated beside our members fishing hut, providing shelter for when the English weather fails us. The season begins on the 1st June through to the 31st May.

Rowneys Carp & Course Syndicate / Rowneys Winter Pike Syndicate
A beautiful and expansive lake situated in Woolhampton, The Rowneys Carp and Course Syndicate offers challenging angling and a vast variety of fish within its 40 acres, including Carp up to 40lbs, Bream up to 16lbs, Pike up to 20lbs and Perch up to 5lbs, 8oz. The season for Rowneys Carp & Course begins on the 1st June through to the 31st May and the season for Rowneys Winter Pike begins on 1st October through to the 31st March.

Elephant Lake Syndicate
Our unspoilt Elephant Lake despite only expanding over 5.5 acres offers a private and secluded retreat surrounded by bulrushes. It is ideally situated near by the Rowbarge pub in Woolhampton and contains Carp up to 30lbs and Tench up to 9lbs. The season begins on the 1st June through to the 31st May.

Kennet & Enborne Syndicate
Stretching over 4 miles of picturesque countryside, the River Kennet and Enborne provide a variety of beats, from weir pools and fast flowing races to tranquil swirling eddies. The season begins on the 16th June through to the 14th March and a variety of Specimens including Barbel, Chub, Perch, Roach, Pike and Dace can be found within this top stretch of the South Kennet.

Application Requirements
Once membership availability has been confirmed Wasing Fisheries require:
o A written character reference from another fishing club or employer (Carp and Tench Specimen Syndicate references will only be accepted from other fisheries.)
o Full name, address, telephone number, date of birth and car registration
o Payments – Credit/debit card, BACS, Cash, or Cheque payable to Wasing Farm
General Information
o Fishing is secured with locked gates; members have codes which are updated annually.
o A locked building is available for our General syndicate members only, providing shelter, kitchen and toilet facilities.
o A comprehensive bailiff system is in place which supervises, protects and maintains the fishery, its environment, wildlife and privacy.
o Day tickets are not available, Syndicates are exclusively for members.
o Wasing has a regular and improving stocking program which operates across all lakes.
o Night fishing is permitted for a maximum of 48 hours on any lake.
o Guest fishing permits are available for all syndicates apart from the Specimen, at a fee of £25.00. A maximum of one or two guests per river beat or lake per day, strictly by bookings only.
o 10% discount available to pensioners (proof of date of birth required). 25% discount available for concessionary (proof of disability required). Only 1 discount applicable per person.
